Note from Sasha

What happens when we become so technologically advanced that we forget the very things that make us human?

Love. Compassion. Empathy. Gratitude. Forgiveness. Tenderness. The ache of missing someone. The warmth of being held. The feeling of looking at another person and knowing, without a single word, I am here with you.

We have spent thousands of years learning, loving, creating, connecting, building families and communities. And somewhere in all this “progress,” I wonder if we’ve started walking astray.

More money. More status. More achievement. More gadgets. More rushing. More proving.

There’s less of:

Sitting under a tree doing absolutely nothing. Watching the rain with a book and a cup of something warm. Handwritten letters written for our mother’s. Little notes left dressing tables & on the fridges saying I love you. Showing up at someone’s door with flowers for no reason other than, I thought of you. I appreciate you being in my life.

Even love feels different now. Dating. Marriage. Family. Having children. Growing old beside someone. So much of what once held people together has been pushed aside by careers, productivity, money, image and the endless race to become more.

And with technology & AI moving closer to us. Into our hands. Onto our bodies.. And one day, possibly embedded deep within the body itself. Isn’t that scary??

There is something I NEVER WANT US TO LOSE. The part of us that FEELS.

A machine can learn to say I love you. It can even learn when to say them. It can learn music, poetry, and art.

LOVE is in our DNA. We are born to be PASSIONATE.

Love is the lump in your throat. The butterflies in your stomach. The tears you weren’t expecting. The hand you instinctively reach for. The person you forgive. The person you miss. The gratitude that suddenly fills your chest because someone you love is still sitting across the table from you.

If we lose that, what exactly are we becoming

I don’t want our greatest evolution to be how closely we can resemble machines.

I want it to be how DEEPLY we can still LOVE.

Much Love,
Sasha💝
